Department of Sanskrit

Govt. PG College, Guna was established in 1957, with the Department of Sanskrit being established in 1965. Prof. P.N. Mishra was appointed as a regular faculty member on December 1, 1989. Due to his tireless efforts, M.A. postgraduate classes in the Sanskrit department began in July 2005 with the support of the Janbhagidari Committee. The department currently has one government guest scholar and one self-financed guest scholar. the Department of Sanskrit at Govt. PG College, Guna, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the ancient language and literature of Sanskrit. The department offers B.A. courses in Major, Minor, and Open Elective formats under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, as well as a Master of Arts (M.A.) program in Sanskrit. The department features a well-equipped library with a vast collection of Sanskrit texts and reference materials.
