Government Postgraduate College, Guna (M.P.) has a Library which was established in 1958 with 18 Departmental Libraries. Library provides resources to UG students and Departmental Libraries. Departmental Libraries provides services to PG Students. The library has an e-Library which is automated using Soul 3.0 and e-Granthalaya. e-Library provides remote access to all library users via N-LIST.
The library has 6 rooms out of which 1 room is the Reading Room. The Reading Room can accommodate 20-30 students at a time. There is a separate cabin for e-Library which has 5 computers. There are in total 67684 books in the library which also includes the books issued to the Departmental Libraries. The library has a subscription of 7 Newspapers and Pratiyogita Darpan. The library will be shifted to a new building inside the campus, which is under construction and will be completed in the next few months.
- Library card is non-transferable.
- It is compulsory for students to bring library card to the library.
- In case of loss of the student's library card, the student will have to inform the librarian immediately.
- In case of loss of library card, new card will be issued only after depositing the amount.
- Issuing of books to the students will be done according to the timetable of the library.
- The student will be responsible if their card is lost and some other student has used the lost card to issue books.
- One book will be issued to the students, which will be for a period of 07 days. If the book is not returned within the stipulated time, a penalty of Rs.1 per day will be charged.
- While getting the books issued, if the book or its binding is torn, the student should inform the authority who is issuing the book and get a note put in their account.
- If the book is lost or damaged by the student, the prevailing price of the book will be deposited.
- Appropriate action will be taken by the college against the student for violating the library rules.
In today's world, it is crucial that students are well-equipped with digital resources. The Library tries its best to spread awareness among students on using more and more e-resources. It transcends physical boundaries and helps the students to go beyond time and space. The following are few e-resources recommended to the students:
