Department of History
The department of History is one of the oldest departments. Department offers UG and PG Programmes. The department of history was established in 1957. The UG courses are in the annual mode and PG in semester mode. The department has four teaching posts which are sanctioned out of which three are filled by Assistant Professor and one by Guest Faculty. The department has a long tradition of imparting quality education. The department has been actively organizing expert lectures. The faculty of the department take part in research related activities by publishing papers and attending Conferences, Seminars and workshops. Our PG courses consist of some Regional History papers also. Under the NEP – 2020, the department apart from teaching organizes project work for students.
The faculty of the department are dedicated to provide quality education so that our students will be able to understand History properly.
The vision of the department is to explore historical study, Indian History, world history and the issues faced by Indian and world history. The department is committed towards achieving high standards of academic performance to provide quality education to students and who can deal with historical, social and cultural realities.
The aim of the department is to provide a better understanding of the local, national and global issues of History. For achieving our aim is to Provide our students with qualitative and effective teaching. The students will learn drastic changes in approach, treatment and techniques of historical literature and the various aspects of the widened history. The students will be able to analyze national and international happenings and will develop communication skills, analytical skills and critical things.
